Impact ionization processes in a photodriven Mott insulator: Influence of phononic dissipation

We study a model for photovoltaic energy collection consisting of Mott-insulating layer in presence acoustic phonons, coupled to two wide-band fermion leads at different chemical potentials and driven into nonequilibrium steady state by periodic electric field. treat electron correlations with dynamical mean-field theory using the so-called auxiliary master-equation approach as impurity solver include dissipation phonons via Migdal approximation. For small hybridization leads, we obtain peak photocurrent function driving frequency which can be associated impact ionization processes. larger hybridizations shallow suggests suppression respect direct excitations. Acoustic slightly enhance frequencies suppress it around main all considered strengths.
